The IDEAL advanced training courses train healthcare students and future professionals to effectively address the challenges posed by infectious diseases by:

– Creating a joint, interconnected EU curriculum based on innovative and engaging training approaches

– Evaluating the quality of the training provided

The course is centered on hands-on training methods including case-based learning, simulations, serious games, team-based sessions, working groups with presentations and bedside teaching. These methods are designed to foster the development of essential skills among students, such as case-based discussions, team-work and communication.

Who can participate?

The course is delivered by a team of European infectious diseases medical educators to groups of 20-30 participants in each teaching MD institution.

Each session is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as professionals, including residents, early post-graduate students and other healthcare workers (e.g., pharmacists and nurses) who are on the frontlines of infectious disease crises.

The course is officially recognized by partner institutions as a substitute or addition to the regular curriculum and gives ECTS credits to students validating the exam at the end of the session.

All the courses are taught into English (level B2 required).
